Macromolecules
Macromolecules are giant biomolecules that weigh thousands of daltons (amu) per molecule. Most macromolecules are made from monomers that are synthesized into polymers. There are four main groups of biological macromolecules. They are carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. Each of these play a distinct role in organisms.
